PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
A safe and gentle fish trap that eliminates the need for chasing fishes and other swimming aquatic animals around the aquarium with a net. Simply place a small amount of food in the Fish Corral to help lure fish in, then place the Corral in the water resting on the bottom and up against the side of the aquarium. Rotate the door into the open position and gently herd the fish or other animals into the Corral.
Close the door remotely with fishing line provided or manually by hand, and lift the Corral to the top of the aquarium, tipping the Corral to allow water to drain out; retain enough water to cover the fish or other aquatic animals. Have a container ready, such as a plastic shipping bag. Open the door and pour the water and animal(s) into the container... That's It! When moving fish use Kordon's Fish Protector for protection from abrasion and infections.

PURPOSES AND BENEFITS
The Kordon Fish Corrals are a safe and gentle capture system to use in aquariums and ponds to catch fishes, aquatic invertebrates and aquatic turtles. They are useful in aquariums and ponds that have hiding places that make it difficult to catch the animals. For aquatic turtles particularly see the Turtle Catcher for a wider corral to accommodate turtle shells, and instructions on how to use these corrals for turtles. The Fish Corral should not be used for aquatic turtles without understanding these instructions.
SPECIFICATIONS
The three Fish Corrals are constructed of 1/8" (3 mm) thick clear sturdy acrylic plastic with all edges polished. All joints are chemically welded for strength and durability. Made in the U.S.A.
Each Fish Corral has a swinging door that fits inside the full size end opening, and 10' of plastic line that can be used to close the door while the corral is in position in the water.
The Small Fish Corral is 3 1/2" wide" long, 8" wide, and 6 1/4" high. The Medium Fish Corral is 4" wide, 10" long, and 9 1/2" high. The Large Fish Corral is 5" wide, 12" long, and 12" high. The pivoting openings to each of the Fish Corrals is the full width and height of the corral. Each corral has an acrylic plastic handle on top. Each Fish Corral comes with an extension tool to be able to close the door from above (see illustration below).
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Warning. Do not use the Fish Corral fully submerged for catching a turtle without being present to lift the corral out of the water after the turtle is caught, so that the turtle can quickly breathe air.
Before use, be sure that the plastic line is firmly attached to the door. Rotate the door to its open position. Place the Fish Corral submerged in the aquarium or pond where it is expected to catch the fish or other aquatic animal. Put food in the Corral before or after putting it in the water, preferably positioning the food towards the rear to attract the fish or other animal into the Corral. Pull on the nylon line to close the door when the fish or other animal goes inside the corral. Or use the extension tool in an aquarium to close the door. When catching turtles Immediately bring the corral to the surface for the turtle to breathe.
When bringing the corral up out of the water, tip the corral to allow part of the water to pour out, depending upon how the fish or aquatic animal is being handled. Have a container ready for moving the fish, if the Fish Corral is not being used for this purpose. When moving fishes, use Kordon's Fish Protector water conditioner to reduce stress, and to resist infection by viruses and bacteria, such as for abrasions and open wounds.
STABILITY
The acrylic plastic in the Fish Corrals is durable and the construction is sturdy.
COMPATIBILITIES
The Fish Corrals were primarily designed in size and shape for fishes, but are suitable for many kinds of mobile aquatic animals, including shrimp, crabs, and turtles. For the procedures for catching turtles see Turtle Catcher.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use the Fish Corrals unattended when capturing a turtle or other air-breathing animal underwater, as is explained under the Directions For Use for the Turtle Catcher.
TOXICITY
The plastics used in the Fish Corals are nontoxic.
